Daydreaming...

I love a good conversation. Here's one:

What if?

We all have things in our lives that we wish we could go back and change or cause it to occur differently. You have an argument with someone and later while thinking of it - "If I'd only said that instead!"-comes out. A mistake that cost you a great deal of money...lessons you had to learn the hard way...opportunities you did not take...lovers you did not take (and could have)...folks you've lost along your journey...feelings of happiness caused by your own deviance. Yes, we are all guilty.

Not only is it is fun (and naughty) to create situations and scenerios, but science states it helps the brain to plan, strategize, recharge and relax (not to mention entertain):

"A daydream is a visionary fantasy experienced while awake, especially one of happy, pleasant thoughts, hopes, or ambitions... While daydreams may include fantasies about future scenarios or plans, reminiscences about past experiences, or vivid dream-like images, they are often connected with some type of emotion....While daydreaming has long been derided as a lazy, non-productive pastime, daydreaming can be constructive in some contexts. There are numerous examples of people in creative or artistic careers, such as composers, novelists, and filmmakers, developing new ideas through daydreaming. Similarly, research scientists, mathematicians, and physicists have developed new ideas by daydreaming about their subject areas."

So, go head my friends. Daydream...

...live the life of a millionaire. No rules. Jetting all over the world to places most never live to see.
...beat your boss to death with a baseball bat without reprocussions.
...turn a RV into a mobile meth lab (kudos to Breaking bad). Science + Money = FUN.
...have hot, wild, unadulterated sex with that forbidden someone...in anyway you desire.
...beat the shit out of the bitch that causes you the most pain - in front of a cheering crowd.
...dream of sunshine and beaches. The warmth of the sand under your feet...waves breaking.
...re-live the best day of your life, over and over. You can exaggerate a bit. No one will know.
...fall in love all over again. The rush of emotion caused by the commencement of such.
...visit friends and family from long past in memories tucked away in a safe place.

...Daydream. Free your mind. There is no wrong in that. Allow yourself the luxury of devulging into a guilty pleasure...even if only in the mind. The mind is an amazing thing. Allow it to be.

Not all that wonder are lost.

How true is that?? If only we could harness what we daydream and truly make it REAL!! I have TOO many regrets, and I am tired of regrets. That's one way I think when making decisions - "Will I regret this after?". I love your insightful writings...PLUS...you have been slacking with the blogging!!!

i love what you have written.
to daydream, excersize the brain whilst having fun entertaining ideas, emotions, images, to be creative in our brain's way helps us be more creative on the outside. makes what we do go out and create all the more amazing.
and though, some people i think feel guilty about what they daydream, hey, what can it hurt if the boss gets murdered in daydream land by all the little munchkins in green hats with day-glo meat cleavers? who will it hurt if no one else but you can hear the happy song of all the munchkins as they terrorize all that is evil in life?
heh, thanks for the daydream!
those meat cleavers have neon lights on the handle, the girl munchkins look like Wendy and smell like a junior bacon cheese burger and fries.
i have also just figured out i am hungry...
